All's Well That Ends Well

by William Shakespeare

Directed by Allie Babich

Parolles

Photos by Miscellaneous Media Photography

"Bassett’s Parolles could be characterized as the one working hardest to be seen as an adult, while most betraying how much of a child he was...I don’t think I’ve ever heard as many expressions of “aww” for Parolles" - Peter Kirwan

Macbeth

by William Shakespeare

Directed by Megan Parlett & Brooke Crittenden

Macduff

Photos by Ariel Tatum.

"I was struck by the bond between Bassett’s pragmatic Macduff and Casterline’s kindly, quavering Ross; the two kept finding themselves on the sidelines of events, finding solidarity with one another in firm arm-grasps and pointed eye contact, but not taking direct action until it was too late....Bassett’s powerful Macduff showed no fear as he finally confronted Macbeth." - Peter Kirwan

The Two Noble Kinsmen

by William Shakespeare and John Fletcher

Directed by Doreen Bechtol & Matt Davies

Arcite

Photos by Miscellaneous Media Photography

"The funniest thing about Palamon and Arcite was, perhaps unsurprisingly, how much the two loved one another. Their impulsiveness and excessiveness was shown in how they took up space around the Blackfriars, whether languishing on barriers or leaning over the balcony. Casterline and Bassett were constantly drawn to be close to one another, unafraid to stare one another in the eyes and rest in one another’s presence, but then threw themselves away, or attacked one another with large swords." - Peter Kirwan

George-a-Greene

Anonymous

Directed by Becca Westbrook

Earl of Kendal | Shoemaker

Photos by Ariel Tatum.

"One didn’t need to follow all of the ins and outs of the scheming of the mellifluous Earl of Kendal (Bassett) in his red garments and dastardly disguise...to recognize these archetypes and their folk loadings." - Peter Kirwan

The Woman in the Moon

by John Lyly

Company Directed

Jupiter | Cupid | Concord

Photos by Miscellaneous Media Photography

"The god who had the most stage time, though, was Jupiter. Bassett’s god was the only one who came down to the main stage...revealing himself in the centre of the stage to a distinctly unimpressed Pandora; in one of the production’s most powerful images, Pandora’s servant Gunophilus (Westbrook) cowered in a downstage corner as Jupiter manifested" - Peter Kirwan
